Internet coming in sporadically. Exhausted. Will try to check comments later tonight after deadline passes.
Just got back from Waveland in Hancock County, on the border with Louisiana. Everything south of the CSX railroad tracks has been destroyed. Nothing left standing. Gas is leaking from pipes. Absolutely nothing left. Churches, schools, houses and the city hall, not a brick or board left in place.
Ask questions and we'll try to answer them.

So glad your okay. Your info has been a godsend for those of us that are so far away that we don't know how things are.

I stumbled on your blog today and it's made for moving reading especially as I was aware of the outcome even when reading your excited posts as you set out on what unfortunately didn't stay a "big adventure". My thoughts are with you and all those who are affected by Katrina.

Just want to thank you for your efforts in keeping people updated. Please stay safe and know that bazillions of people all over the world are praying and sending money to assist w/the efforts on the coast.

If you know of a way someone could help displaced animals, and you have a moment, would you please post the info here? I'm in Alabama and I'd be happy to foster some animals.

God's Speed,

Steph

Thank you so much for reporting on what is happening down there. I am on Active Duty overseas and have been tearing my hair out trying to find out information about my girlfriend. She is ok (thank God!) and is up at her parent's house in Hattiesburg, but she worries about what she is coming home to. She lives off DeBuys Rd in the Oak Grove apartments (near your station). Has the water reached that far up? Has the Guard been able to stem the looting?

Thank you for your dedicated Service! Stay Safe! I pray for everyone down there and my heart goes out to the families who are still searching... God Bless.

Hello,

I was wondering what the condition of the city is north of Pass Road? My dad's house is at Pass Road & Belvedere and I haven't heard from him since.

Thank god you guys are okay. Stay safe, don't do anything stupid.

Blogs like yours are a godsend for the rest of us in the country who can only go by what the news tells us. The images are horrendous, your daily postings very moving.

You have the prayers of everyone.

Can you find out anything about Wiggins, MS? A friend in Lucedale, MS said Wiggins was hit pretty hard. Can't find out anything beyond that.

I think WLOX has pics of Chevron and it's all flooded.

Long Beach is hit or miss, but whatever is below the tracks is pretty much destroyed.
