From left to right, that's Louis, Joe, Ronnie and Watson. They had all lost their homes and were sleeping outside next to a trailer but insisted I take one of the peaches an electrical worker crew from South Carolina gave them.

Proof the human spirit still lives. They don't have anything left, but they're still willing to share.

Thanks for a bright spot in the middle of the chaos.

I've been reading you the last few days, and my heart goes out to you.

I hope that your birthday is filled with something wonderful, supposing it's the color of the sky. Look up, have to keep looking up. Easier to reach for the stars I guess.

I'm not in the thick of it myself but I am trying to find everything that I can possibly do. I am working on a web site that will hopefully help get some displaced people into a new place to live and a job. check out my blog to watch the progress. We hope to have the site up by Friday.

That is a truly great picture!

Thank you so much for your continued efforts on behalf of the ravaged area surrounding you and for making the rest of us more aware of the conditions that all of you are suffering. May God bless and keep you throughout this and may your next birthday be a happier one than this.
