Just came back from rural Hancock County. Passed a 15 vehicle FEMA convoy on I-10 headed east for Biloxi or Jackson County.
It's good to see the cavalry. Hope they get to work and don't just have more meetings.
On deadline, will right more later.

Thanks for all your posts. It's devestating to see all the damage and the people that are stranded without food and water. My heart breaks everytime I see the news and see small children and babies and their parents crying and wondering what they are going to do so ensure their children's safety. I am a new parent myself. My son is only 7 weeks old, and my husband is from Louisianna.
Just please stay safe. And please continue post.
And all the others reading the posts and comments, please pray for all of the people stranded. Please pray for their safety and well-being.
Hey Keller
glad u are safe. thanks for hard work. we check the blog often. could you possibly do a favor for us when you find time? Looking for Nigel's aunt, uncle, cousin who rode out Katrina on shrimp boat named PogMothon # 916880. They went to a reservoir where shrimp boats head in storms located "up river" near a Coast Guard station, not too far from a Nasa or space center. Their names are Debbie, Donnie, and Tim Joost from Lakeshore/Bay St. Louis area. You visited them once on a road trip. Any info is greatly appreciated. We have not heard from them since Sunday afternoon. thanks and much love from the Hamm family.
From the immediate frantic moments after the storm until now, this site has been enormously helpful for so many people including myself. I have shared your site on my weblog http://deltasierra.typepad.com/everythingwhichisyes/ in hopes that you can help many more.
Thanks for all your information. Best Wishes and God Bless.
Has anyone thought of using the recently closed military bases as shelters? They would be better than sports arenas.
